Abes and Essens Trail, Bon Echo

090714rocks-s Having gotten behind in my blog posts, I’ll hope the image will say all. This is from my trip to Bon Echo Provincial Park. Along the Abes and Essens hiking trail we stopped for lunch. Across the small lake there was an intriguing outcropping, inaccessible to those on foot. I had to paint the mystery.

really nice :D the contrast between the detailed rocks and the simple trees works well

ever been over there on a boat?

Thanks Jennifer. Nope, I've rarely walked this trail as I usually go to Bon Echo it's hot and buggy. Past few years we leave canoe behind and travel on foot. Dog & husband both not sure about canoes, terrible combination ;-)

Wow! I love the watercolour version. It just pops!

My husband and canoes are a bad combo too. Kayaks are worse!

Thanks Michelle.
How about his and hers kayaks, of course then you might have to do the rescue...

This makes me want to haul the tent out of storage and head to Bon Echo - one of my favourite camping spots. Ah well, it's just a dream. I can't cope with the work involved in setting up and taking down the campsite. I'm not sure if it's old age or just laziness.
